I liked the voice of this book and the attention to detail, but it's just so bizarre! And I didn't feel particularly attached to Stuart or any of the other characters. It's funny, this felt like a very British book to me. Kind of like Wind in the Willows in the way animals behave like adults but are still child-like because they are animals... And what's with little creatures and suits and cars? I bet Mr. Toad wishes his car could go invisible even if Stuart is too sensible to risk it!
